Bata experienced growth across e-commerce and multi-brand distribution outlets, alongside franchise expansion. The ZBM footprint now covers 80% of business-contributing stores within Bata's company-owned company-operated (COCO) stores.
Gross margin was diluted by 100 basis points due to channel mix, although EBIT per pair was highlighted as a key metric.
Product and Brand Strategy
Hush Puppies and Floatz led growth, while the core Bata brand saw improvements, particularly in the ladies category. The company is rationalising its SKU assortment, reducing store-level assortment index to 68% of average lines per store, aiming for 60% for optimal balance. Product changes are expected to have a larger impact by the first half of next year.
